Adjunct Instructor, Electrical/Electronics Engineering TechnologyDanville Community College is seeking an energetic and engaging individual to fill the role of Adjunct Instructor for the Electrical Electronic Engineering Technology Program. This position will serve Danville Community College's CTE division. Instructional workload will be based on current demand and on a contract basis. Instruction will primarily be conducted at the RCATT and EIT building on main campus. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to multi-task, and create a student-oriented learning environment.
JOB DUTIES:Maintain and monitor lab area for daily instructional activities including equipment setup.Prepare for and instruct established and approved curriculum and lesson plans to students in a professional manner.Must possess ability to prepare/adjust curriculum and training content to relate to various audiences.Review and discuss syllabi requirements at the start of each term with students.Answer all student questions as they arise to ensure student understanding and completion of material for Electrical, electronics and Robotics.Ensure students are aware of safety policies and monitor for correct procedures.Maintain professionalism within the classroom and coach students on their professionalism.Manage all classroom activity including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction.Ensure students are attending lab and online coursework.Resolve attendance issues as needed.Monitor student grades, and all student interactions in student files and on database in a timely manner.Advise students on issues affecting their education and provide guidance as needed.Assist in the maintenance of quality equipment and tools for program use.Ability to plan, organize, and work independently.Administer exams and evaluate student progress.Create an engaging instructional environment to a diverse population of students from various backgrounds.The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing instruction in several of the following areas: basic electrical, robotics, industrial programming and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).Other duties may be assigned as required. KSA's/Required Qualifications:2-year degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology or related fieldWork experience in Electrical wiring, controls and troubleshootingBasic understanding of Programmable Logic Controls5 years of related industry experienceThe ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff and student populationExcellent oral and written communication skillsCommitment to the community college missionWillingness to learn concepts, equipment and software such as learning management systems as it relates to the courses and programs to be taughtSkilled in problem-solving and working effectively with administration, faculty, staff and studentsAbility and willingness to market the program to potential students of all ages and backgroundsCommitment to teaching excellence with an enthusiasm for teachingAbility to use technology to enhance instructionPlease attach transcripts as supporting documents to demonstrate attainment of required degree.Additional Considerations:
