Adjunct Instructor of Air Conditioning and RefrigerationDanville Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Adjunct Instructor in its Air Conditioning and Refrigeration programs. This position will help expand the program to offer an associate degree. The primary responsibility is to provide quality instruction in various courses in the designated discipline/field of study. Teaching may include a variety of formats: face-to-face, remote, and online; teaching day and evening classes.
The Instructor position has an instructional load of 30-40 credits over the academic year. Responsibilities include recruiting students for the air conditioning and refrigeration programs, advising students, and performing other duties assigned to full-time faculty. Faculty members are expected to meet assigned classes regularly, submit required records and reports, teach the prescribed courses, conduct virtual student conferences as needed, and maintain current competence in the discipline.
Special Assignments: May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
KSA's/Required Qualifications: High School Diploma with 5 years of current, related work experience.Willing and able to teach day and evening courses in circuits and controls, refrigeration, load calculations, HVAC systems, air conditioning, and heat pumps.The ability to work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.The ability to review, revise, and develop curriculum to meet industry and certification standards.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Commitment to teaching excellence with enthusiasm for teaching and commitment to the community college mission.Willingness to learn concepts, equipment, and software as it relates to related courses and programs.Ability to utilize campus resources including software and college learning management systems.Ability to exercise discretion and use sound judgment in decision-making.Ability to use technology to enhance instruction and to effectively teach in classrooms and labs.Please attach transcript(s) as a supporting document(s) in order to show attainment of required degree awarded by an accredited institution.
