DON is efficient, dedicated, a good listener and a problem-solver. Responsible for fostering an excellent environment for staff and patients.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
1. Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPN etc.)
2. Guide staffing procedures
3. Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
4. Organize and coordinate admission, nursing and patient care procedures
5. Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high quality standards
6. Control budgets and monitor expenditures
7. Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed
8. Manage record-keeping procedures
9. Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations
10. Report to upper management
Requirements
1. Proven experience as director of nursing
2. In-depth knowledge of hospital procedures and KPI/KQIs of patient care
3. Understanding of basic budgeting and financial reporting
4. Great knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
5. Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration
6. Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel
7. Great communication and people skills
8. Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
9. Aptitude in problem-solving
10. Degree in nursing; Master's degree in nursing or healthcare administration is a plus
