Advanced clerical, secretarial and staff assistant work which includes the operation of computer based data entry, and word processing software.
* Performs duties of a staff assistant nature and participates directly in the work for the individual(s) supported.
Secures details of specialized information, coordinating office work and providing information regarding the services and operation of the unit.
Functions as office Engineering Department receptionist.
* Keeps appointment calendars and schedules appointments.
Receives and screens calls and refers callers to other employees.
Takes notes and minutes of conferences, meetings and functions as required.
* Prepares Agenda Items for Board of County Commissioner, Prepare and track legal request to the County Attorney's office, Prepare forms and composes letters.
Sets up and maintains specialized office files.
Files letters, reports and related technical information in the prescribed manner.
Assembles information for others use.
Opens, prioritizes and processes mail.
* Types using computer based word processing software and processes letters, forms, reports, schedules, manuals, booklets and related paperwork.
Types information or enters data into computer containing technical terminology.
Retrieves data for reports.
* Performs research and retrieval of records.
Conducts statistical comparisons of information.
Assists in the preparation and maintenance of department records.
Maintains office supply inventory for engineering section and place orders for needed supplies.
Assist with any office equipment inventory reviews.
* Provide support of entering, emailing, and filing the R.O.W, and Subdivision permits and assisting Engineering and other staff as needed.
* Organizes and keeps current engineering section bulletin board, including all job postings.
* Coordinates any vehicle maintenance and/or repair with fleet along with vehicle usage forms.
* Provides support to the Customer Service Representative.
* Responsible for Engineering Time Tracking reporting.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Regular attendance.

Emergency Response
County employees are required to report for work during a state of emergency and are subject to recall around the clock for emergency response operations which may include duties other than those specified in this job description.
Minimum Qualifications
* Graduation from an accredited high school, or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED).
* Three (3) years' experience involving secretarial / clerical duties including the operation of a personal computer, keyboard, or similar data entry equipment, with emphasis in local government.
A combination of education, training and experience may be substituted at the County's discretion.
Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations
* Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License with a good driving record as defined by current insurance carrier.
* Must possess or be able to obtain within 90 days of employment, certification in NIMS/Incident Command Courses IS100PWb, IS200, and IS700.
Required Competencies
* Knowledge of business, English, spelling, and punctuation to prepare documents and compose letters, etc.
* Ability to take minutes of various meetings which may involve after hours attendance at the meeting.
* Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
* Knowledge of general mathematics.
* Knowledge of the department's policies, procedures and practices.
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public.
* Ability to access input and retrieves information from a computer.
* Ability to communicate using speaking, hearing and visual skills.
* Skill in the operation of computers and emails.
Physical Demands
* Constant: Acceptable eyesight (with or without correction), acceptable hearing (with or without hearing aid).
Frequent: Type at rate of 55 words per minute, ability to access, input and retrieves information from a computer, ability to access file cabinets for filing and retrieval of data, ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time, ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
