Under general supervision, the Administrative Assistant will provide professional-level administrative support of a highly responsible and confidential nature to ensure daily department operations and functions are performed in an efficient and effective manner.
Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum of two (2) years of college education or Associate's Degree.
In lieu of educational requirements, experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of administrative support experience.
Must type 50 WPM .
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Job Duties Description of Job Duty Manages the daily operations and functions of assigned department.
Plans and organizes departmental meetings and training sessions.
Assists in development of administrative departmental operating policies.
Serves as department liaison for customers and responds to inquiries and general information requests.
Prepares and composes special project reports, correspondence of a confidential and complex nature, letters, memoranda, and other documents.
Composes routine correspondence, types, formats and proofreads memos, letters, forms, manuscripts, and grant proposals.
Coordinates and plan special events and/activities.
Performs word processing duties, desktop publishing and graphics and data entry.
Assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and monitor expenditures.
Prepare requisitions, check requests, blanket purchase orders and other financial documents for assigned accounts.
Generates purchase and order lists and purchase supplies from local vendors as needed to fulfill departmental needs.
