POSITION PURPOSE
Works with the Parking Manager, and all subordinate Parking Staff Members.
Performs a wide variety of responsible department assistance requiring a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, a knowledge of department activities and programs, and a high capacity for clear written and verbal communication.
Maintains accounting of projects in Parking and works with accounts receivable to process any invoices.
Utilizes monthly parking software such as Zephire to manage monthly parking accounts at all city parking locations.
Works closely with the Treasury Department for all parking related items.
Maintains a variety of department record files and initiates research to inform future policy.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
An employee in this position may be called upon to do any of the following.
(Does not include all tasks employee may be asked to perform.)
1.
Provides support to multiple users in the Parking System;
2.
Assists with accounting for multiple projects in the parking system.
Enters invoices and helps maintain accurate invoice and budget records;
3.
Answers intercom calls, monitors and responds to parking equipment notifications, and monitors CCTV to help ensure efficient operations.
4.
Responsible for managing monthly parking sales and records.
5.
Receives citizen and business inquiries and facilitates communication with City departments.
Answers citizen questions with regard to Parking activities;
6.
Assists with preparing and organizing materials for various board and commission meetings as needed;
7.
Composes a variety of correspondence, memoranda, and reports as requested;
8.
Manages and maintains a comprehensive library of departmental records;
9.
Performs related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Must be willing to continuously upgrade technical and computer skills by attending computer/software training as needed.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of policies and practices regulating the Parking department.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: One to three years of experience in a project management or customer service field, with a demonstrated knowledge of the modern office environment with substantial public contact.
Parking experience preferred.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with experience in Adobe and Google programs.
Excellency in attention to detail, organization, problem solving and public relations.
OTHER: Work requires willingness to work with competing priorities.
