Department: Special Services Department - Stillman Administrative Office
Reports To: Supervisor/Director Special Services
Start Date: Immediate
Work Year: 12 months
Hours: 35 hours/week (excluding unpaid lunch break)
Compensation: $23.24 - $28.48 per hour (based on experience & qualifications)

Wethersfield's Special Services Department is seeking a motivated and dedicated professional to serve as an Administrative Secretary I in our department office.
This position is vital to our department as the incumbent has regular and constant interaction with our staff, students, administrators and parents/families.
This position will be housed in the Stillman Administrative Building and will assist programs at Webb Elementary School including (but not exclusive to) the Extended School Year (ESY) program, the LEAP program, and the Pre-School program.
There will be times that the individual will work outside of the Stillman Administrative Office and at other school buildings such as Webb Elementary School.
Job Responsibilites:
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following.
Candidates must be able to show demonstrated experience and/or applicable knowledge in the majority of these areas: Assist in the general management of the Special Services office; Assist with the case management and recordkeeping of students with Individual Education (IEP) and 504 plans; Assist with the scheduling, recordkeeping, filing and compliance of Planning and Placement Team (PPT) and 504 meetings; Manage schedules, documentation, correspondence, meetings and file management associated with the Special Services Department; Assist in maintaining calendars for administrative staff; Assist with the management of the Pre-K Program - registration, data forms, etc.
; Enter data into various state reports such as Early Childhood Outcomes; Create and maintain student files; Assist the Lead Department Secretary as needed; Other duties as prescribed by administration. Qualifications: Minimum of a high school degree and three (or more) years of secretarial/clerical experience; Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Google software applications; Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to work cooperatively with others; Ability to handle and treat information confidentially; Ability to relate effectively with staff, parents, students and the public; Ability to work in a high-paced office environment.
