Description
The Admissions Coordinator (AC) is a full-time position, similar to a telemarketer and field sales person, and reports to the Director of Admissions.
This person is responsible for supporting new student recruitment and enrollment efforts.
This person is responsible for setting 80-100 prospective student visits per month, seeing 10-20 admissions interviews per week, phoning 100 prospective students per day and meeting monthly, quarterly and yearly goals.
This position requires heavy phone work sitting at a desk for extended periods of time while on the phone or standing at off-campus college fairs and other recruiting events.
The successful candidate must believe in the mission of the college and possess the passion to see the prospects' life transformed by a Pillar College (PC) education.
This person must be able to endure constant rejection from apprehensive prospective students and thrive in the pressures of working in a fast-paced, results-oriented atmosphere, while remaining positive and diligent to meet their employment requirements (new student enrollments).
Requirements
WORK PERFORMED:
General
Enroll given percentage of students based on Admissions target goals.
Heavy phone work; 100 daily outbound calls responding to inquiries focused on setting admissions interviews with prospective students and the AOM/DOA.
Compassionately communicate a strong sense of urgency with prospective students to complete application process before admissions deadline.
Must be available to work on weekends, evenings, days and occasional split shifts.
10-20 hours per week.
Assisting with occasional cross departmental projects and front desk/receptionist duties (i.e.
phone coverage, and greeting visitors).
Keep consistent and accurate records of prospective and current student contacts within the college database.
Including, but not limited to, other related tasks as described in summary above.
RECRUITMENT & ADMISSIONS Achieve personal enrollment goals to contribute to departmental goals; Follow-up on inquiries, leads, and incomplete applicants (phone, email, personal notes, etc.)
as necessary to achieve enrollment goals - making sure that applicants and leads are given the highest priority in data entry and marked for immediate follow-up.
Communicates admissions, registration and financial aid policies and procedures accurately and is up to date on said policies and procedures Assist students with enrollment issues.
Read through each applicant's file for the purpose of knowing the applicant asthoroughly as possible.
Process applications in a manner consistent with PC Admissions policy.
Possess a working knowledge of each applicant's progress through the enrollment process by working closely with other Admissions team members.
Assist with, and attend campus events, info sessions, and open houses.
Be personally involved in on and off-campus recruitment events at least two events per week.
(College Days, Concerts, Youth & Teen Conferences, Alumni gatherings, etc.
), making sure that prospective students experience or understand as much of what PC has to offer as possible.
Qualifications:
Experience: Higher education sales, telemarketing, or tele-counseling experience preferred.
Ability to sit and make phone calls for several hours per day.
Computer skills and knowledge about data base programs.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Marketing, sales, financial aid and telemarketing background is preferred.
Valid driver's license Minimum GPA of 2.0 is required for students employed in this position.
Proficiency in both Spanish and English languages is preferred.
Education: Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred.

40 % of time spent recruiting out of the office.
60 % of time spent converting prospective students into newly enrolled students.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
60% of the time is spent sitting at desk using the phone and computer.
40% of the time is spent standing at display booths and other events 2-8 hours per event.
May occasionally carry heavy display equipment and literature (+/-25 lbs.).
Driving distances and occasionally using PC or own personal vehicle (college reimburses for mileage on personal vehicle only).
Position openings:
There are two openings for this position.
One AC will be responsible for enrolling students at the Newark campus and the other will be responsible for enrolling students at the Somerset site.
