The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) assists the Director of Nursing in the organization, development and operation of the nursing department within a functional unit.
As designated by the Director of Nursing, assumes responsibility for clinical operations, programs, various nurses in leadership or advanced practice roles, and/or professional support staff.
The Assistant Director of Nursing participates in functional unit, department of nursing and hospital program and/or committees.
In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing assumes responsibility for nursing service within the functional unit.
This ADON will be over Ambulatory Oncology and will have oversight of Infusion, Oncology Urgent Care, Office Practice, Inpatient/Outpatient and Bone Marrow Transplant as well as Apheresis.
The ideal candidate comes from an ambulatory and academic background and oncology experience is highly preferred as this person will ideally assist with program expansion.
Who Should Apply: Master's degree from an accredited school of nursing Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Maryland Five years of clinical nursing experience with at least two years experience in nursing management Knowledge of nursing process; social, behavioral, biological and physical sciences; EBP and nursing research and application; leadership and management as normally acquired through master(s) program in nursing Knowledge of current health care environment General computer knowledge and capability to use computers Knowledge of the science of patient safety and quality improvement processes Knowledge of Service Excellence Principles and Behaviors What Awaits You: Tuition Reimbursement - Up to $15,000 per year Dependent Child Tuition - Payment for up to 50% of child's tuition and eligible mandatory academic fees at an accredited, degree-granting institution Retirement Savings Plan Johns Hopkins Health System and its affiliates are drug-free workplace employers.
