Renal Associates is seeking an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner for a full-time position to provide specialty care to patients with kidney disease. The candidate will provide high quality patient care under the supervision of a physician, within the scope of training and education, assess patient care plans and provide comprehensive patient care independently or in autonomous collaboration with other health professionals. This role offers an opportunity to practice in the clinic setting, dialysis units, and hospitals in and around the Baton Rouge area.Duties and Responsibilities:- Collects data to support patient assessment including taking vital signs, social history, chief complaint, and current concerns.- Alert physician to and/or address any patient complaints, especially those that are life threatening.- Supports clinical functions to prepare patient for examination, treatment, or procedure.- Calls pharmacy refills and patient callbacks as directed by office protocol and as directed by a physician.- Document all calls, correspondence and encounters with patient within established guidelines- Utilizing the nursing process, assesses the patient's condition, learning needs in regard to their health care, provides education as directed by regarding treatment, special diets, medication, follow-up diagnostic tests and healthy lifestyle information- Round on patients in a dialysis setting on designated schedule.- Conduct patient education consultation appointments when scheduled- Evaluate fitness for clinical research studies or chronic care management program and refer accordingly- Other duties as assignedQualified candidates should possess:- Master's Degree required- Educated and trained at university graduate level- NP licensure and state authority for advanced practice.- ACLS CertifiedRenal Associates of Baton Rouge, LLC (RABR) is a 21-provider group practice specializing in the treatment of diseases of the kidney and related organs, problem hypertension, co-morbidities associated with Chronic Kidney Disease, and electrolyte disorders.
