Job Role SummaryThe Licensed Clinician performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions, and is familiar with best practices for a variety of client populations. This position manages a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated.
Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCompletes biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), integrating information gathered by the team and developing the integrated diagnostic summary; prepares Clinical Treatment plans based on the BPSE and in consultation with the treatment team.Manages a caseload of clients by identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs; engages other team members in meeting these needs as indicated; monitors client progress and reflects this in the clinical documentation.Performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions, and is familiar with best practices for various client populations.Evaluates and updates the treatment plan at intervals determined by guidelines, consulting with client family and team in this process.Advocates for clients to ensure access to needed services, developing community relationships and resources.Meets agency standards of timely completion of all documentation and client service hours.Identifies high-risk client symptoms or circumstances that could result in self-harm or harm to others and notifies appropriate higher-level clinical staff for consultation.Continuously evaluates clients' mental status, reporting progress to the team and treating psychiatrist.Identifies community resources and assists clients in accessing these resources.Proactively organizes community groups and facilitates the development of community resources, advocating for clients with policymakers.Provides indirect service to external agencies and the community through consultation and education.Interprets and applies service and billing procedures according to client needs; completes billing according to guidelines for timeliness and accuracy.Alters activities and behaviors to reflect and ensure adequate care appropriate to the age of the clients served.Serves as a clinical resource for less experienced staff.Demonstrates commitment to professional growth by actively participating in clinical supervision.Job RequirementsMaster's degree in Human Services and licensed (LCSW, LMFT, LMHC).Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements.All staff working with clients from the Department of Child Services will be required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background check performed upon hire and periodically thereafter.All individuals working for the Opioid Treatment Program must have one of the following FSSA/DMHA-approved credentials for Clinicians providing counseling with an OTP:Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IICertified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IVIndiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) IIndiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) IILicensed Social Worker (LSW) with Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS)Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC)Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC)Master Addiction Counselor (MAC)National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) IKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesUnderstanding of and ability to implement a strengths-based, community treatment model.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to be clear and concise in written and verbal communications.Advanced knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domains.Advanced knowledge of psychotropic medications and their uses and side effects.Willingness and ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills.Ability to interpret and apply complex directives, information and regulations.Crisis intervention skills.Leadership and team building ability.Experience and training to safely manage therapeutic services to patients receiving Opioid treatment medication.Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families.
