Adult Psychiatrist, Inpatient - Behavioral Health And Substance Use Disorders

(Physician/MD qualifications required) Psychiatry (Addiction) - Healthcare system is seeking an experienced psychiatrist to work on an 18 bed mental health and substance abuse unit.

The psychiatrist provides psychiatric and/or Substance Use Disorder assessments/evaluations.
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of therapeutic and evidence-based treatment.
Discuss and review the role of anti-craving medications for relapse prevention.
Request any necessary laboratory studies on clients as determined by results of screening or assessment.
Provide individual and group treatment and medication management to clients taking psychiatric medications.

Handle crisis intervention needs and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Design a plan of care based on assessment of physical, emotional, and social needs in collaboration with the patient, primary care providers, and, if appropriate, the family.
Provide psychoeducation around issues such as high-risk behavior, mental health, addictions, and domestic violence.
Consultation to the on-call physicians for mental health emergencies.
