We are proud of our broad portfolio of more than 16,000 active patents.Job DescriptionITW Automotive Body and Fuel, a global automotive supplier of automotive products, is seeking a hands-on Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering team. ITW Automotive Body and Fuel has engineering and manufacturing locations in the US and Mexico with sales globally.The ideal candidate for this position will possess great project management and product engineering skills; coupled with high energy; experience to lead, mentor and motivate a team; and intellectual expertise in the areas of injection molding for the automotive industry and Advance Product Quality Plan (APQP) processes.Responsibilities:Manage a team of Advanced Processing, Tooling, and Automation Engineers to ensure best practices are documented and implemented.Develops team oriented annual goals for self and team to achieve annual plan and long-range plan objectives.P&L Responsibility for select KPIs related to the injection molding and tooling process.Support Sales & Engineering in giving the right manufacturing solutions while quoting.Bring in innovative ideas for manufacturing to reduce conversion cost.Manage and grow the Lessons Learned process.Supplier management and development .Develop and manage plant layouts divisionally working collaboratively with the Operations and Sales & Engineering teams.Manage enterprise-wide capacity management of injection molding tooling and assets.Responsible for providing accurate estimates to the sales and engineering teams to build accurate product pricing breakdowns.Manage the capital acquisition requests for programs requiring additional assets.Manage Annual and Long-Range Planning of Capital Asset acquisition (1 -5 years).Review and Authorize request for quote for capital assets on a program basis.Manage key aspects of the APQP process pertaining to the injection molding and tooling process.Support the development of best practices pertaining to tooling, injection molding machines, and support infrastructure.Functions as a manufacturing expert for innovation projects.KPI accountability SOP+ 90 days on all capital asset integrations per program.Support automation changes due to engineering changes.Function in team environment utilizing six sigma problem solving applications.Develop relationships between sales and engineering and operations team members.Achieve authorization from multiple team members on new equipment per standards.Develop and manage standardized tool build guidelines.Support operations and production teams on other projects as assigned.Must be able to travel internationally, max travel 30%.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering and 5+ years of equivalent experience required. Experience as a replacement for a degree will be considered.Strong understanding of financial investment procedures and lawsA solid background in robotics and automation is required.Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cross functional team building.Creative thinking and systematic problem solving a must.Good mechanical aptitude along with strong computer literacy skills required.Experience in injection molding required.Understanding of GD&T and interface application3D CAD systems knowledge required; Solid works preferred.Knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles are a plus.Additional InformationAll your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
