Position Information


New Hanover County's Health Department is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider with credentials of either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the clinic team of the Health Department. The position will be responsible for providing professional care to patients of various clinic services such as Women's Preventive Health, Child Health, Family Planning, and STI evaluation for women and men where duties include conducting examinations; obtaining medical histories; ordering lab work and interpreting lab results; prescribing and administering medications, treatments, guiding treatments; making and recording diagnoses; making referrals; providing timely follow-up; counseling and educating patients; and documenting records.

Hours: Hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday - Friday . Must be available to work during emergency situations. Salary Information:
The current hiring range for this position is $65,232 - $88,063.50. Salary will be determined based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree from an approved Nurse Practitioner program or an approved Physician Assistant Program and two (2) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. (Note: Physician's Assistant licensure qualifications is dictated by the North Carolina Medical Board and Nurse Practitioner Registration is dictated by the NC Board of Nursing. The approval for either to practice in NC is dictated by the North Carolina Medical Board. Employees must meet the requirements stated.)
