Advanced Rigger

Turner Industries is looking for an Advanced Rigger for regular maintenance at a site in Gregory, TX near Corpus Christi. Work schedule is 40 hours, regular day shift, with some occasional OT available. The successful candidate will be local to the Corpus Christi area - there is no relocation and no per diem available with these positions. NCCER Advanced Gold Card or NCCCO Rigging 1 AND 2 Certification required TWIC Card required Valid Driver's License required Must be able to pass health/drug screen, background screen and required safety council training General Job Description: Assembles rigging to lift and move equipment or material on construction projects.
Functional Requirements: Selects cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to weight and size of load to be moved; attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, with bolts and clamps; attaches load with grappling devices, such as loops, wires, ropes, and chains, to crane hook; gives directions to equipment operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure the safety of workers and material handles, using hand signals, loudspeaker or telephone; sets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment; splices rope and wire to make repair slings and tackles; may direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment into ships, railroad cars or trucks.
