Applications are invited for a Cardiology Advanced Trainee position at Waikato Hospital commencing 27 January 2025. Waikato Hospital is a teaching hospital and the major tertiary referral centre for the Midland and Waikato area, with a patient catchment of 900,000 people. It is the only major Hospital in New Zealand to offer all surgical specialties on one campus and is the major trauma hospital for the Te Manawa Taki region. The Waikato Hospital department of Cardiology admits approximately 6,000 patients a year and performs 3,000 to 4,000 angiograms, 1,000 angioplasties as well as over 400 electrophysiological procedures in a year. Candidates who have been successful in the RACP's Divisional Clinical Examination, wishing to pursue a career in Cardiology, will be considered.
