Description: Job Title: Manufacturing and Supply Chain Engineer / Advisor / Consultant
Location: remote / travel within domestic U.S.
Subcontract agreement (LLC or 1099)
Shift: Flexible as needed (often times days)
Deployment: project deployment to customer locations as needed
Position Overview:
As a subcontracted advisor through Belcan, you will deploy to our customers as needed to support projects related to Manufacturing and Supply Chain engineering needs. As critical project issues and needs for crisis intervention arise, this job will deploy to those customers. This job is a flexible, subcontract 1099 or LLC status. Great matching candidates will have strong manufacturing and supply chain leadership and supervisory skills capable of driving measurable solutions and outcomes for clients. In this job, you will be on site at customers and/or customer suppliers working to assess, mitigate, consult, identify, and administer outcomes.
Core job duties: Deploy and travel to the customer(s) as neededAct as an advisor and consult customer by working as a team member ensuring critical customer needs are metTroubleshoot major material process problems, evaluate scrap out-of-flow material, implement existing or develop new approaches and special projects to solve the issuesTroubleshoot, evaluate, make suggestions involving the assembly process, machinery, tooling, gage alternatives, etc.Provide VSM (Value Stream Mapping), Lean, Kaizens, Cycle-time studies, and work load balancingFAIRs and LAIRs - review, define, identify, analyze, and resolve all process, forms, drawing characteristics, data, discrepancies, inspections, paperwork, and flow associated with this prior to on-site processingHeavily involved with presenting of the on-site information process, customer procedures, supporting documentation, forms, drawings, production, inspections, quality resolution, etc.Identify, act, and complete efforts related to PFMEA's and Effects of Failure and the recommended actions and assignments for preventative and corrective needsDevelop and Complete RFT's (Right the First Time), time studies, cycle time, MSA evaluations, etc.Write and create new work instructions, update existing work instructions, and make edits for new and existing partsAssist, edit, troubleshoot, and resolve needs within the manufacturing process, various APQP processes, package and relocation support, supply chain, CNC machines and programming, cutting tools, components and parts, unique parts, scrap, etc.Communicate and interact with shop floor personnel, quality/process teams, customer management team, material teams, purchasing teams and other engineers involved in the processCore Skills and Qualifications: 10 plus years' experience as a seasoned specialist and Subject Matter Expert (SME) within manufacturing and supply chainCapable of operating onsite alone to professionally represent Belcan to support multiple parties' interests (Customer/Supplier)Operate with speed and precisionAbility to travel as needed and deploy rapidly in short notice to begin work due to assessment, supply chain disruptions, and project improvement initiativesBackground working with Automotive/Aerospace/Industrial OEMs, suppliers, and/or tooling and machine operationsDemonstrated capability to accurately assess deficiencies in manufacturing processes, and possesses the technical know-how to troubleshoot and solve complex manufacturability problemsMust have experience in both short and long-term improvement projects, with demonstrated capability to gain consensus and implement manufacturing process improvementsProficient in their understanding and performance drivers of contracted KPIsRoot cause analysis and lean methodologies to aid in both throughput, quality and capacity related issuesOther relevant skills: Mechanical aptitude and an understanding of design for manufacturing conceptsHands on experience in the shop/manufacturing environmentUnderstanding of Mechanics of Materials and Structural DesignKnowledge of CAD Modeling (2D, 3D)Proficiency in MS Office productExperience with Cost reductionIf you are interested in this Manufacturing / Supply Chain Engineer job, please apply via the 'apply now' link provided.
