Aerovel, a trailblazer in the unmanned aircraft industry, is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to ensure the conformity of product/service to requirements specified by DO, Authorities, and customers, supporting quality on time and on cost delivery.
Meet the Team: The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers sophisticated small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities.

Your Challenges: Lead and develop manufacturing processes for assembly of mechanical and electrical aerospace products.Identify and track risks and issues with manufacturing process quality and efficiency.Create and maintain manufacturing work instructions.Implement 5S in design of process, tool sets, part kits, and workstations.Maintain M-BOM and compliance to engineering design.Design tools, fixtures, jigs, and workspace for efficient manufacturing assembly.Determine in-process quality inspection equipment and steps required.Conceptualize and fabricate test equipment for verification of critical features.Participate in design review with design engineering.Provide training to manufacturing staff on new procedures.Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production costs.Support new production and MRO.Evaluate manufacturing processes for improvement opportunities.Prepare product and process reports by analyzing information and trends.Continuously improve processes with implementation of 5S methodologies.Assume the role of Project Manager for special projects as requested. Your Boarding Pass: Bachelors of Science degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.10 years of relevant experience in Engineering.Demonstrated experience in 5S methodology implementation.Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and Bills of Material.Ability to author and structure manufacturing work instructions.Knowledge in process inspection and traceability.Knowledge of manufacturing ergonomics.Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Physical Requirements: Onsite: 100% - Daily except when on travel.Vision: able to see and read computer screens and documents.Hearing: able to hear and participate in conversations.Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings.Equipment Operation: able to operate most office equipment.Carrying: able to carry documents up to 10lbs.Lifting: able to lift documents up to 10lbs.Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice. Ability to work in the US without current or future visa sponsorship/work authorization is required for this opportunity. Summary pay range: $127,000 - $172,000 per year.
