Job description Apollo After School offers after-school care and enrichment clubs at local schools. We seek outgoing, personable, and reliable dance teachers for our school-based programs in the area. If you don't have a degree as a professional dancer or in education, no problem! While this is highly valuable we encourage candidates who have a real, genuine passion for working with children and dancing to apply!

As an Apollo Dance Instructor, your responsibilities will be: Provide a high-quality learning environment and manage activities that extend the school dayAs an Apollo Dance Instructor, you will have the opportunity to positively impact children through different art techniques.Assist in the implementation of classroom curriculum and weekly lesson plans when needed Planning and implementing engaging dance lessons for children aged 5-12, with a focus on beginner level. In charge of providing instructions on different dance techniques and styles. Creating a positive and inclusive class environment allowing kids to feel valuable and supported. Monitor and ensure the safety and well-being of all children enrolled during dance and daily activitiesFollow designated schedule and curriculum, maintain a routine for studentsAssist with homework completion The requirements for our Dance Instructor are: Ability to command respect and cooperation in an elementary classroom.Must enjoy dance and have a strong desire to inspire kids through different art techniques. Knowledge of different techniques and different kinds of dance styles, etc.Experience teaching dance to kids. Ability to create fun, engaging, and age-appropriate lesson plans. Excellent communication skills. Energetic, patient, and knowledgeable on how to share positive feedback. A team player who can collaborate with peers.Ability to assess and solve problems associated with elementary-aged children.Ability to create and maintain a fun, caring, and responsive educational environment.Minimum of one year working with school-age youth, ages 4-10 in a school/after-school setting.Great ability to motivate and encourage kids.
