We are seeking an experienced AI Integrations Engineer to join our team and contribute to the integration of various software components with public Large Language Models (LLMs) to enhance developer experience on the Internet Computer. This role combines expertise in AI/ML technologies with distributed systems engineering to create seamless, intelligent developer tools and workflows. This is a hybrid-onsite position, based out of our soon-to-be-opened office in the heart of San Francisco.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement integrations between existing developer tools and various LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta's Llama)Develop and maintain robust API wrappers and middleware to facilitate smooth communication between Internet Computer components and AI servicesCreate intelligent automation tools that leverage LLMs to improve developer productivityOptimize prompt engineering and model selection for different use casesImplement caching strategies and fallback mechanisms for AI service integrationsDevelop monitoring and observability solutions for AI-enhanced systemsCollaborate with product teams to identify opportunities for AI integrationWrite technical documentation and integration guidesEnsure compliance with AI service providers' terms of service and rate limitsRequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field3+ years of software development experienceStrong programming skills in Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar languagesExperience working with REST APIs and building API integrationsFamiliarity with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) and prompt engineeringUnderstanding of distributed systems and microservices architectureExperience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelinesPreferred QualificationsExperience with the Internet Computer ecosystem and Motoko programming languageKnowledge of AI/ML concepts and natural language processingExperience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker)Familiarity with WebAssembly and canister developmentTrack record of building developer tools or developer experience improvementsContributions to open-source projectsExperience with real-time systems and websocket implementationsTechnical SkillsProgramming Languages: Rust, JavaScript/TypeScript, PythonFrameworks & Tools: Node.js, React, Internet Computer SDKAI/ML: LLM APIs, prompt engineering, vector embeddingsInfrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CDProtocols: REST, GraphQL, WebSocketVersion Control: Git, GitHubBase Salary Range: $175,000 - $235,000/yr
This position can be considered across multiple levels. Total compensation at DFINITY consists of base salary + generous bonus and is determined based on multiple factors including job leveling, areas of expertise, educational background, geographic location and overall experience.
