Provides technical guidance on a wide range of air quality matters impacted by company operations and assets. Evaluates/determines regulation applicability. Prepares compliance documents for submittal to regulatory agencies, and provides guidance to operations on how to maintain and document compliance. Reviews proposed operational changes to ensure compliance. Evaluates/researches emissions controls, and emissions detection and quantification systems. Develops and implements improvements in data collection, access, synthesis, interpretation, and reporting.Supports major customers/clients and leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision. Detailed knowledge of most aspects of the work function.Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Air Specialistthrough April 26th, 2024at11:59 p.m. Central TimeThe position provides air support to Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU) which is a dynamic and fast paced upstream business unit with assets in Texas and New Mexico. This job will be geographically focused on assets in Texas. The Texas Air Team supports MCBU in maintaining its license to operate and lower carbon strategy.The position reports to the Texas Air Team Lead and is a technical air role which supports a wide range of air quality matters, responsibilities include:Reading and interpreting regulations;Calculating air emissions using generally accepted calculation methods and models;State and federal regulation applicability determinations;Developing air processes, procedures, technical standards, and manuals;Coordinating the preparation of permit applications and reporting;Ensuring that air program safeguards are in place and effective at work locations through inspections and site assessments; andDeveloping training programs and materials to address develop stakeholder competency around regulatory, compliance, permitting, and risk recognition.The role is forward facing with many internal and external stakeholders including operations, engineering departments, industry groups, and agencies.Other considerations for the role:Leads projects of medium scope and complexity under limited supervision.Position is expected to travel 25% of the time, while the role is officed based business travel will include time in the field.Eligible for the Chevron hybrid and 9/80 work schedule.Position is relocation eligible and open to Midland (preferred), or Houston locations.Required qualificationsThe successful candidate should have:Awarenessof Chevron and industry practices, legal and regulatory environment, and closely related disciplines and functions.FundamentalKnowledge around Air Regulations, Compliance, and Permitting; specific to Texas preferred.Fundamentalexperience in interpreting and complying with environmental regulations and implementing programs/procedures for sustained complianceFundamentalrisk recognition and understanding of Risk Management which lead work priorities.Fundamentalability to communicate information to leadership.Fundamentalunderstanding of emissions estimations for emission sources common to the oil and gas industry, specifically NSPS OOOO/OOOOa.Skilledability to lead multiple projects of medium scope and complexity including coordinating internally and externally.Skilledwith Microsoft Excel and Data Visualization Tools (Power Bi and/or SEEQ).Preferred qualificationsBS in Environmental or Engineering related discipline Upstream Oil and Gas industry experience of 4+ years. 4+ years of air permitting experienceRelocation Options:Relocationmaynot beconsidered.International Considerations:Expatriate assignmentswill not beconsidered.Chevron regrets that it is unable to sponsor employment Visas or consider individuals on time-limited Visa status for this position.Regulatory Disclosure for US Positions:Chevron is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
