SOUTH EAST ALASKA (Physician/MD qualifications required) Family Practice and Obstetrics - ALASKA! FAMILY MEDICINE WITH OB
See anything and everything as a physician in Alaska. Broad age range of patients (family medicine | OB). Getting to consult with patients who may have anything. Looking for those who want to show they are capable of anything. When you're not at work, you are in some of the most beautiful geographical environments on the planet. Take your dog for a hike after work, kayak, take pictures of birds. Geography is wild...literally. Ski resort within 20 mins of Juneau. Looking mostly for family medicine. Must be able to deliver babies. OB. Open to those early in their career as well as late in their career. Compensation range $252,725 - $279,357. Highly qualified with 20 years exp, may qualify for higher wage. WRVU - represents a payment for the value unit for something they have done. For example, certain procedures have a code, which acts as a performance incentive. (This is available for some roles). Quality incentive - 15k per year for full-time physicians. Based on something that they have established that they want to improve upon.
THE OPPORTUNITY Provides comprehensive health care services for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency patients at (TBA) and serves as a community liaison and referral physician for communities and clinics throughout Southeast Alaska.
Requires high level decision making for patients of all ages, from neonates to laboring patients to adults. Works frequently as the sole provider to ensure that health care delivered throughout the facility is of the highest quality. Covers multiple areas of the facility at the same time, responsible for all patients on the premises.
Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job Provides appropriate clinical health care services to the emergency room patients of Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. Care includes evaluations, clinical analysis, and recommendation and delivery of complex therapies and treatments. Includes delivery of health care services to patients of all ages, including newborn, infant, child, adolescent, pregnant, adult, and geriatric patients.Practices comprehensive medical care to outpatients and inpatients, including evaluations, clinical analysis, treatment recommendation, and preventive health care. This includes delivery of health services to patients of all ages and may include the practice of obstetrics.Serves as consultative liaison to village health care providers and referral physicians throughout Southeast Alaska.Participates in all medical staff functions as requested, to include quality assurance reviews and meetings. Serves as chief of service as assigned by the medical director, providing clinical leadership to the service and collaborating with other hospital and corporate staff who work within the service.Abides by medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and clinical services policies | procedures.Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required M.D. or D.O. degree, along with satisfactory completion of an accredited Family Practice, Internal Medicine | Pediatrics or Emergency Medicine residency. Certification by the American Board of Family Practice, the American Board of Internal Medicine | Pediatrics, or the American Board of Emergency Medicine is also acceptable. Board eligible may apply.Alaska Medical License issued by the Alaska State Medical Board.BLS Certification required, PALS, ACLS and ATLS certification are desired.Required Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart AssociationDoctor of Osteopathic Medicine - Alaska State Medical BoardMedical Doctor - State of Alaska - Alaska State Medical BoardPhysician License - State of Alaska - Alaska State Medical Board
