Job Description
Overseas IDC Operations - AMER Cluster is responsible for all data center operations across AMER regions, including server, facility, asset, and security operations. S/he will build a relationship with colocation (COLO) service providers and work with them to manage the critical electrical/mechanical systems within data centers. Responsibilities include:
Managing emergent failures and tracking all daily maintenance of critical equipment.
Evaluating the service performance of COLO and driving improvements with operation data.
Working with internal teams like procurement to influence improvements on SLA terms or strategy.
Managing changes in critical systems and capacity management of facility systems including power and cooling.
Driving and implementing projects to improve the capacity, efficiency, and reliability of current facility systems.
Supporting the IT manager on their project and operations.
Assisting design and project teams on new site/data-hall construction and commissioning.
Establishing performance benchmarks, conducting analyses, and preparing reports on all aspects of the critical facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
Position Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or a related field).
3+ years of critical facility management or operation experience in a large-scale data center, or 5+ years of large-scale production facility management experience.
Experience and knowledge of MEP equipment such as UPS, generators, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, etc.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
High attention to detail to identify risks and drive resolutions.
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, or a related field).
5+ years of critical facility management experience in large-scale data centers.
Deep understanding of MEP equipment as an expert.
Project management skills and team management experience.
Good safety sense and experience driving safety evaluations or improvement projects.
Knowledge of Lean or Kaizen methodologies.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin; ability to speak Mandarin is a plus.
The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $133,200 and $219,600/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
