True North Home Care is looking for caregivers to serve Omaha seniors! The role of Caregiver with True North Home Care involves providing the hands on care and and companionship of your client(s) according to their plan of care. What does a shift look like? Arrive to your shift on time (5 minutes early preferred). Greet the client and check on any immediate needs. Complete activities of daily living and any other tasks in the plan of care. This may include housekeeping duties and meal prep/ cooking. Spend quality time with your client. (Painting nails, playing games, watching a movie together, reading them a book, going on outings, etc.) Document your cares in the provided mobile application. Report any concerns or issues to your supervisor. Treat the client as you would your own grandparent (or even better). Develop a rapport with your client where they can trust you to put their needs first. Frequently Asked Questions? How old do you have to be to work for True North? 19 years of age or older. Do you have to be able to drive? Yes. You must be able to drive an insured personal vehicle and have an active driver's license. Can I sleep when my client is sleeping? No. Caregivers are not permitted to sleep on any shift, not even night shifts. If you prefer to work night shifts, you are expected to stay awake during your shifts. Can I leave the client to take breaks? In most cases, no. You should bring your own food/snacks/drinks to the clients house and expect to stay on the clock for the entirety of the shift. Can I take smoke breaks? No. Smoke breaks are not permitted as we provide 1:1 care for our clients. Can I work Monday-Friday 9a-5pm? Not likely. Most shifts are 7-3, 3-11, 11p-7a. In order to work for True North you would need to be able to work what we have available. Can I work at places close to my home? We go where the clients are. If the clients are in Bellevue, Elkhorn, Gretna or Bennington, and you would like to have hours, you should be able to go to those places. Can I be "PRN"? In order to be "PRN" at True North Home Care, we do require you to work 1 weekend shift per month and at least 16 hours per month. How much do you pay? We pay $15-17 per hour during the week with a $1 per hour shift differential on weekends. We do not pay more for experience, as the majority of our clients need basic assistance with ADLs. We pay higher pay for caregivers who prove themselves to be reliable, consistent, and quality caregivers.
