Americorps - Volunteer Coordinator

Americorps - Volunteer Coordinator
Company:

Habitat For Humanity Of Kitsap County

Details of the offer

Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County is entering an exciting season, as we increase our rate of construction and begin building more homes for more families! This upsurge in building, as well as a focus on revitalizing our Store, is creating a greater need for volunteers and, in effect, a greater need for volunteer management. Therefore, we are seeking a volunteer coordinator to recruit, train, host, and build relationships with volunteers. Service activities · Typically serve Tuesday through Saturday to support work on the build site.
· Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, Store, office, outreach, and special projects and events.
· Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including managing VolunteerHub (processing accounts, scheduling events, running reports, etc.), answering emails and phone inquiries, leading orientation sessions, hosting groups at the Store and on the build site.
· Build relationships with volunteers in all departments. Ensure positive volunteer experiences by helping them feel seen, heard, and appreciated. Celebrate wins; listen to ideas and concerns; and relay pertinent information to the appropriate department head.
· Work with construction staff members to ensure successful volunteer build days – greeting and signing in volunteers, providing orientation and safety briefings, delivering lunch for premium build site days, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day, and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
· Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management, and recognition tools.
· Help plan and host organizational (open to key volunteers, staff, and Board members) gatherings (holiday party, summer picnic, etc.).
AmeriCorps members may not perform prohibited activities as outlined in 45 CFR §2520.65 nor may they supplement, duplicate, or displace staff members in place at the host site. Member development Minimum expectations are outlined in the member development guidance, which will be available during the interview process, with the understanding that further trainings may be required, as determined by the host site, Habitat for Humanity International or our federal funder. AmeriCorps National members' training may not exceed 20% of their aggregate hours.
· First Month: Meet weekly with supervisor.
· All other months: Meet 2x per month with supervisor.
· Attend and help with all house blessings.
