This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Production Scheduler in our Cleveland, TN manufacturing facility.
Your responsibilities will include
Schedule Production with Assembly Lines, with Demand Planning group from Benton Harbor to ensure target DOS are being maintained throughout the distribution network to achieve target availability metrics
Manage the use of schedule stability for your production lines to ensure a stable schedule that suppliers both external and internal can have success in achieving production actualization and Assembly yield.
Analyzes Product Availability data, Sales Data, DOS data, Sku by Sku data within Advanced Planning Systems (APS) and Production Shipment Inventory (PSI) to ensure the future production schedules are aligned with demand and our current business needs.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the fabrication areas evaluating the use of technology to tie the scheduling system to the shop floor.
Analyzes and plans material requirements by determining the quantity of and date by which materials are needed to ensure optimal inventory levels.
Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
Manage the use of 1X1 Production Scheduling techniques (Verisource)
Prepares serial production tags for finished goods units.
Responsible for key metrics: Production Availability, Schedule Stabilization, Schedule actualization, Assembly Yield, inventory levels (in dollars and days of supply/inventory), and obsolescence.
Provide as a back up role for other production schedulers.
Minimum requirements
High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment
1+ years of SAP experience
Preferred skills and experiences
BS Degree in Supply Chain, Production Planner, or other relevant field 3+ years experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
System experience with an MRP system and strong understanding of MRP and APS fundamentals.
MS Excel/Access and Higher Level Programming languages experience.
APICS/CPIM Supply Chain certification
Lean/Six Sigma skills and/or training, or experience working in a Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing environment
World Class Manufacturing (WCM) preferred. Ability to challenge current processes to identify waste and drive improvements.
