SiTration is seeking an Analytical Chemist (II/Sr.)
and Lab Manager to join our team and help scale our groundbreaking critical materials extraction solution.

Founded out of MIT in 2020, SiTration's R&D operations are located in the Kendall Square area of Cambridge, MA.

Above all else, we are looking for motivated and talented people to join our team. Responsibilities will include: Maintain analytical equipment, including lab-related calibration, preventative maintenance, repairs, and upgradesPerform and report routine and complex laboratory analysisDevelop and validate new protocols for the analysis of novel and complex feed streams and materialsProvide leadership for day-to-day operations of the laboratoryManage procurement and maintenance of supplies, chemicals, and other necessary inventoryMentor junior members providing guidance, reviewing and checking workAct as point of contact for Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S), working with external contractors and vendorsResearch and develop new protocols to ensure safe handling of new streams and materials Desired experience and skills: Ph.D.
with 2+ years of experience or B.S./M.S.
with 5+ years of experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field with relevant experience in analytical instrumentation5+ years of wet lab experience3+ years of experience with Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-OES) required; Agilent-specific systems experience strongly preferredExperience with Microwave digestion systems a strong plusExperience with physical or chemical vapor deposition a plusMust be familiar with the operation and maintenance of standard lab equipmentKnowledge of EH&S regulations and requirements for laboratory safety, including methods for handling, cleaning, and disposal of wasteComfortable working with Microsoft office and google applications (e.g., word, excel, powerpoint and their equivalents) for data management and processingExcellent scientific and technical communication skills The ideal candidate will: Be passionate about materials innovation for environmental and societal benefitsPrioritize safetyBe highly motivated and able to work both independently and in small teamsDesire working in a fast-paced environment and have opportunities for rapid career development At SiTration, we: Are mission-driven.
