Job Title: Pathology Lab Technician
Location: West Jefferson, OH
Duration: 6-month contract, potential for extension or conversion
Pay: $19.87/hr (plus, depending on budget and experience)
Job Overview: Seeking a recent college graduate/lab associates with a background in pathology, biology, or a related field for lab work involving necropsy procedures on animals and or microbiology. Key tasks include tissue trimming, specimen collection, and working with hazardous materials in BSL-2/BSL-3 labs. Responsibilities also include cleaning, decontamination, and equipment validation.
Requirements:
Associate Degree in biology, animal science, or a related field.
Must be a U.S. citizen (no green card holders).
Security clearance eligibility required.
Comfortable working in a high-security, biocontainment environment with appropriate gowning and respiratory protection.
Ability to obtain/maintain certification in the Biological Suitability Assessment Program (BSAP).
Ability to obtain/maintain DoJ Security Risk Assessment (SRA) approval.
Ability to obtain/maintain CDC approval to work with BSAT material.
Must be willing to work in a biosafety level 2 (BSL2) and 3 (BSL3) (biocontainment) environment and able to wear appropriate respiratory protection.
Must be willing to be immunized with FDA licensed vaccines and Investigational New Drugs (IND) recommended for persons at risk to occupational exposure of biological agents.
Must be willing to participate in random drug screening.
Respond appropriately to various alarms and potential emergency situations.
Sufficiently medically fit to do work in a lab wearing appropriate respiratory equipment and perform all assigned duties.
