Job description:Job Title: Staff Anesthesiologist Assistant
Work at two nearby hospitals:
Hospital 1 Cases: General, urology, ortho, spines (neuro spine), vascular (carotids mostly), OB, healthy peds (ent). Not many arterial lines but some with carotids, some spinals for total joints or c sections.
Hospital 2 Cases: No transplants, large cardiac service open hearts and structured tavrs workmans, some is cath lab based work. CARDIAC IS TOTALLY optional.
General, robotic laparoscopic, urology, neuro spine and head, OB, urology, ortho, not much peds but healthy peds ent and dental, peds ophthalmology, vascular.
**About half the staff do spinals and arterial lines. You are not required to do them but you can opt to learn them if you would like.
Team Size:
Culture: Longstanding group with many tenured providers. The team has adapted over the years and grown with the community adding a second new hospital in recent years. People drive in from Charlotte but there are many people who live in the northern SC communities which have great schools and some live on Lake Wylie. They have both Anesthesiologists leading and a Chief CRNA. They are flexible and willing to train if you would like to develop skills.
Schedule: 12 hour shifts are the most needed currently. First call covers the 16 and 24 hour shifts but they do not currently have openings for those roles. Presently 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts are open. Shift options are 8, 10, 12, 16, and 24 within the team. There is flexibility on which days you are scheduled to work with Sunday being the one challenging day to schedule.
Call: All call is optional. Currently they can use people for 2nd call which is beeper from home where you work a 10hr shift then 5p-7a from home. When available first call is 24 hr shifts in house or 16 hr shifts starting at 3pm.
Bonuses: $30K retention bonus over 3 years
Sign-on Bonus: No
Relocation Assistance: $5K
Benefits: The group offers a $14K bucket for benefits which can be cashed out if not used. Can be used for medical, life, disability, association dues, CME, anything work related will be taken out pretax. If not used it's taxed then distributed. PLUS: After first year 4% profit sharing fully vested immediately and paid on base and OT. PTO is 6 weeks to start, goes up after 10 years to 7 weeks, and after 20 years to 8 weeks. Rare holiday worked as they are shared.

They are willing to train for those who want to train in certain areas and very much are flexible with shifts. They will be open to putting anesthetists in administrative roles for part of their work as they open up.
Qualifications:Qualifications (Minimum and preferred):
Years of Experience: New graduates are welcome.
Licenses: Will need an SC license.
Personality factors: They are an easygoing bunch, many have stayed for well over a decade and they want to keep it a positive place to work.
Pay Summary: Note that they review pay regularly and did a pay increase in 2024.
Salary Range: $95/hr = $197,600. Up to $120/hr = $249,600 for experienced at about 15 years exp.
Overtime: You can earn this at 1.5 after 40 hrs a week.
Call pay: Beeper M-Th $675 then hourly rate Fri $700, Sat/Sun $1100 each. 1st call comes with an extra stipend of $100 for weekdays and $200 on weekends and holidays. Heart team extra $110 per call shift.
Income Potential:Employer states that they have 15 high earners and they bring in an extra $30K on top of their base pay on average.
