Prepares examrooms,assuring that all equipment and supplies are available prior to beginning each case.
Performs imaging sequences, digitalin accordance withprescribed protocolsutilizingthe correct exposure techniques,interimagedelays, contrast flow rates and patient I.D.
markersin accordance withthe policies on Universal Precautions,safety,and waste disposal.Assistsin coordinating patient flow for the IR Lab with the Board Runner to maximize productivity and limit the patient wait before, during and after the procedure.
Coordinates and collaborates with Technical Aides to ensure efficient room turnover .Coordinates,communicates, andcollaborates with Patient Financial Associates that register radiology exams to minimize delays and potential safety issues for the outpatient population Reviews billing codes to beutilizedfor each procedure with the Radiologistimmediatelyafter each case to ensure concurrence between the hospital and professional fees.
Ensurestimelycompletion of all exams through tracking, scanning and other technicalworkflowas related to Radiology Information System (RIS, Enterprise Radiology Solutions (ERS) andEM R (Electronic MedicalRecord) .Provides basic information to patients and/or families about procedures to be performed and can answer questions if asked.Assistswith the upkeep of interventional radiology equipment, adheres to all related safety requirements and reports need for equipment repairs.Cleans equipment and work area, wipes down assigned equipment between cases and stocks andmaintainssupplies atidentifiedinventory levels.Assiststhe technical supervisor in the revision, development and implementation of lab policies, in-service programs and continuing educational programs that enhance the individual technologist's performance, and skills.Qualifications:Vocational/Technical Diploma from an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.Associate of Science in Radiologic Science; candidates must alsodemonstratecompetency in didactic coursework and an ARRT-specified list of clinical procedures by completing competency requirementsestablishedfor the discipline in which they are seeking certification and registration.A minimum of six months hands-on training, and prior clinical experience.ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) or ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technology).BLS (Basic Life Support) .Cardiac Interventional Certification in Vascular Interventional (VI), Cardiac-Interventional (CI), or CVT (Certified Vascular Technologist) must be obtained within18monthsof hire.Current experience in interventional angiography preferred.
