Apply today for our Apheresis Registered Nurse opportunity.Job Summary and QualificationsAs an Apheresis Registered Nurse (RN) in the Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology unit, you will be responsible for performing all aspects of apheresis procedures while providing optimum nursing care in a safe environment.
You will coordinate, direct, evaluate, and modify the delivery of patient care.You will be responsible for the performance of all aspects of Apheresis procedures, including patient assessment monitoring during procedures and recording of all pertinent dataYou will create a plan of care based on patient assessment and care standardsYou will provide the patient, donor, and family with education to promote understanding of the disease process and treatmentYou will emphasize the importance supportive care to the patient, donor, and family during ApheresisYou will administer prescribed medicationsYou will review physician's orders for assigned patients and ensure they are carried out accuratelyYou will notify the physician of changes in the patient's conditionYou will organize and maintain the cleanliness of patient rooms and the work environmentJob RequirementsExperience1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)2 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Medical/Surgical/Oncology – preferred1 year of dialysis or Apheresis infusion experience – preferredEducationAssociate's degree in Nursing (ADN)Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferredLicenses and CertificationsCurrent State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hireBasic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policyOncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Provider – preferredOncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification – preferredSt.
