Cranial Neurosurgery Advanced Practice Provider (PA/APN)
Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL
Hours: Full-time, 40-hours per week
Call: Rotating, shared between APP team
Weekends: Rotating, shared between APP team
Holidays: Rotating, shared between the APP team
General Summary:
Opportunity to join a growing team of Advanced Practice Providers (APP) and pioneering physicians as a part of the Cranial Neurosurgery Program, serving patients with intracranial hemorrhages and masses.
We are building an innovative Cranial Neurosurgery program with state-of-the-art operating rooms and technology.
What you'll do
Function as an APP within the Cranial Neurosurgery Department with job duties including inpatient care, outpatient clinic, and OR.
Perform a thorough neurologic examination
Round and manage inpatient consults, pre- and post-operative cranial neurosurgery patients.
Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments
Assists with pre-admission and explain procedures to patients
First- or second-assist in the operating room on cranial neurosurgery cases
Participate in outpatient-based clinic for new consults and post-surgical patients
Formulate individualized medical-surgical treatment plans in a shared-decision making model and facilitate discharge care
Provide patient education, motivation, respect and empathy to the highest standard
Work within multi-disciplinary team as a resource and consultant
Attend and participate in department meetings and case conferences
Identify opportunities for and implement program growth initiatives
Positively contribute to safety outcomes, quality initiatives and promote high quality patient experiences
What you'll need
License: Advanced Practice Provider Licensure (PA-C or APN-CNP) in the State of Illinois required;FederalDEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
Education: Completion of accredited program from either Masters level Physician Assistant Program OR Advanced Practice Nurse Graduate/Doctoral Level Nursing Program (APRN RNFA required for Cranial Neurosurgery) `
Certifications: BLS/CPR certification and ACLS certification required.
Experience: Prior Advanced Practice Provider experience in an acute care hospital setting, neurosurgery, neurology, or surgical services preferred but not required
