Sentara Medical Group is seeking a PRN/Flex APP (NP or PA) to join Sentara Family/Internal Medicine Physicians (including Walk-In sites) on the Southside (Hamptons Roads region). This is a float position. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for the provision of health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups who receive their care under the auspices of the medical group.
Health care services include conducting health assessments, prescribing/providing treatments/interventions, promoting health, and providing disease prevention and management.
Health care services are provided under the direction and supervision of the assigned primary care physician (collaborative agreement).
The NP/PA is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage in team activities, and use resources (human and material) appropriately.

Requirements for this position include Virginia-licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, and a current, unrestricted DEA license.
Candidates must have the ability to provide quality, comprehensive, continuity of medical care in a compassionate manner with minimum supervision.
Job Summary: The Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) is responsible for the provision of health care services to individuals, families, and/or groups who receive their care under the auspices of Sentara Medical Group (SMG).
The APC is expected to participate in quality assurance and improvement activities, engage in team activities, and use resources (human and material) appropriately.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant experience preferred.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
The APC maintains continuing education credits of at least 30 hours per year and maintains prescriptive authority and certification; acquires special clinical competencies as required by the group; participates in quality assurance and utilization management activities; and assists with risk management functions.
