Exciting Opportunity: Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Position in Neuro Critical Care & Neurosurgery at Mercy Health Neuroscience Institute
Mercy Health Physicians is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner to join the Neuro Critical Care (NCC) service at St. Vincent Medical Center. This provider will deliver a full range of inpatient NCC services, working collaboratively within a patient-centered team. The role also includes facilitating patient access to care, recommending referrals, assisting in neurology resident teaching, and providing support across a variety of specialized departments including Neurosurgery, Endovascular/Stroke, and Neurology.
Work Schedule Shift: 6:00 pm - 6:00 amResponsibilities:Handoff at the beginning and end of each shiftCollaborate with residents throughout the shiftManage the NCC service overnightCover neurosurgery consults from the EDCollaborate with NCC and neurosurgery physicians on-call as needed Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner / Midwife Requirements Current APN license or Physician Assistant license in the state of practiceWritten standard care arrangement for Nurse Practitioners or supervisory plan for Physician AssistantsNurse Practitioners must hold APN certification by a national certifying organizationPhysician Assistants must have completed an accredited program and hold current or pending NCCPA certificationCertificate of Authority from Ohio Board of Nursing (for Nurse Practitioners)Eligibility to obtain prescriptive authority in the related specialtyPreferred: 2 years of clinical patient care experienceBLS and ACLS certification required, along with any other certification specific to the specialty area Additional Qualifications for Midwives:
Current licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) or Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) in the state of practiceCertification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) for CNMs or appropriate certification for CPMsExperience providing care in labor and delivery, prenatal, and postnatal careAbility to assess and manage pregnancy complications, and provide appropriate interventions as neededStrong communication and patient care skills, with a focus on providing family-centered, compassionate careCurrent BLS and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required About Mercy Health - St. Vincent Medical Center
