Application Architect/ Api Engineer (Secret Cleared)

Position Summary: The Application Architect/API Engineer will play a critical role in designing and building APIs that drive seamless integration, scalability, and high performance across our systems. This role requires a strong background in API development, integration strategies, and experience with programming languages like Java, Python, Node.js, and/or Go. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of API design patterns, cloud architectures, and security best practices. This position requires a Secret clearance or higher.
\n Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement API architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions that meet business and application needs.Develop API frameworks and standards, including RESTful, GraphQL, and/or other protocols, to ensure reliable and high-performing integrations.Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, and Go.Architect and build API gateways, integration solutions, and microservices to support application functionalities.Ensure that APIs and applications are designed with a strong focus on scalability, security, and performance.Work with DevOps teams to deploy, monitor, and optimize APIs and applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).Implement best practices for API versioning, documentation, error handling, and testing to maintain robust and high-quality APIs.Mentor and guide junior engineers on API development best practices, design patterns, and integration strategies.
