This position will support the Market and Applications Strategy team and is responsible for regional applications support to ensure and expand the use of Daikin products and technology in the North American HVAC marketplace. Core functions include coordination with local sales channel partners and the Daikin VRV & Light Commercial sales team to train, develop and support the local contractor community with project design, application, and job site aspects for the Daikin line of VRV, Light Commercial Products, and Controls. Individuals will be expected to be comfortable and capable of working with local customers and the sales team and offer ongoing project support to contractors by utilizing tools, resources, documentation, and training information available.
May include: Provide project application support to the network of Daikin Manufacturer Reps and Distributors as well as their local contractor customers.Utilize tools to support project design, optimization, installation, and bidding/estimating.Competitor conversion and comparison skills to maximize Daikin's opportunities for all projects.Codes and Standards Support Services – provide support and understanding for applicable national and local codes and standards.Provide input and guidance to the marketing team for the creation of Technical Tools / Selection Guides.VRV Design Workshop Facilitation Support—Assist with execution of local and national classes as a workshop small group facilitator.Assist in project development by providing alternate equipment selections and options.Perform additional projects/duties to support ongoing business needs.Nature & Scope: Works within well-defined instructions.Knowledge & Skills: Ability to develop & implement company-wide documents, tools, practices, and processes.Ability to answer technical questions.Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.Ability to interact effectively with customers, contractors, and internal personnel.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, clients, and customers.Ability to anticipate and solve practical problems and resolve issues.Must have computer proficiency – Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong networking and representation skills.Positive flexible attitude, with a can-do approach to solving problems.Experience: Five (5) years' experience preferred, although aggressive Graduate Engineers will be considered.Knowledge of HVAC products, load calculations, ventilation, zone and building automation controls, installation, and project estimating preferred.Previous experience in the design, application, and support of VRF products would be a benefit.Education: BA/BS degree preferred, Technical/Hands-On equivalency with proven track record in the light commercial market working with contractors will be accepted.People Management: No
