Title: Applications Engineer Location: Boise, ID Salary Range: $90,000.00 to 110,000.00 Annually Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package with a 401k match, as well as a safe and clean working environment Qualdoc is hiring an Applications Engineer in Boise, ID. This position will be a customer-facing role that reviews sales inquiries and new product development opportunities to define performance specifications, costing models, and validation requirements. They will ensure customer satisfaction through technical expertise and innovative solutions, specifically by preparing technical content for business proposals and new product development opportunities while minimizing technical and/or commercial risks.
\n Duties / ResponsibilitiesReview and interpret customer inquiries and market specification requirements.Work with customers to gather application data and provide initial feasibility assessment and design concepts, including qualification and acceptance testing proposals.Collaborate with the sales and engineering team to prepare business cases to support new product development projects and define specification requirements, projected volumes, costing models, and NRC and sales development strategy. Perform detailed analyses for designs to verify the maintenance of performance targets and conformance to established best practices.Lead the production of technical materials (i.e. product data sheets) to support customer proposals or new product launches.As required, generate the necessary supporting data.Conduct technical assessment of proposed solutions to ensure the business is not exposed to unacceptable business risk.Produce detailed drawing packages—to include customer-approved drawings—as well as specification drawings and validation plans, as required.Liaise with the Production Engineer to ensure efficient manufacturability of technical proposals. Perform all other duties as assigned. Qualifications / Training Required Degree qualification in a relevant technical or engineering discipline 3+ years of experience in a technical role with a strong commercial focus Experience in the microelectronics industry Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and technical requirements Ability to write technical documents, including proposals, test plans, procedures, and reports Candidate should display a high level of enthusiasm, motivation, ambition, and a "can do" attitude Up to 25% of travel requiredSubject to a pre-employment drug test and/or background check.
