Posting SummaryRutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Aquatics Specialist for the Recreation department. The specialist will assist in ensuring a safe and efficient operation and supervision of recreation aquatic venues. This includes assisting in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility when in use and planning for the safety and security of the clients and customer service. All employees are expected to adhere to the policies and procedures of Recreation Services, Rutgers University.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Manages and schedules lifeguard staff.Assists with day-to-day operations of the aquatic centers.Assists in organizing and instituting Aquatics and Recreation related events such as staff trainings, special events, swim meets, etc.Assists the assistant director or coordinator in recruiting, training, hiring, scheduling, evaluating, motivating and developing student staff.Manages equipment and inventory of the Aquatics program.Performs other duties as assigned.Position Status Hours Per Week: 19.9

Position Salary: $20-$25/hr

QualificationsMinimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.At least two (2) years of relevant experience managing an aquatic facility and staff.Certifications/Licenses: Lifeguarding Certification with CPR / AED / First Aid.Lifeguarding Instructor Certification.Posting Open Date: 10/30/2024
