Overview:
Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Architectural Designer I to join our Hingham, MA office!
Responsibilities:
Creates designs for aspects of assigned projects.Undertakes zoning research, analysis, and apply constructs to develop site plan information.Familiarity with current codes and ADA requirements and applying these to designs.Undertakes surveys and the creation of existing conditions drawings.Develops schematic and design development sketches appropriate to programmatic requirements, develops renderings and concept boards for client presentation within firm templates.Product research & selection of appropriate products for use on projects.Production of construction documents under the direction of Project Managers or senior team management, coordinate with consulting engineers, product representatives and other sources to coordinate materials, details, and project intent.Job site visits for verification and evaluation of completed construction.Adheres to corporate quality control standards within the discipline and checks own work product for accuracy and completeness.Reviews & process shop drawings and submittals for design intent.Other duties as assigned by Project Managers or senior team management
Qualifications:
A professional degree in architecture from an accredited institution.1-3 years experience: is expected to undertake a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural techniques for small projects or selected segments of larger projects.
Performs daily layouts and features, which require researching, compiling, and recording information for assigned project work.3-5 years experience: is expected to be fully competent in all conventional aspects of architecture.
Independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural design for projects of moderate size and complexity.
Performs analysis of design, planning and occupancy studies and limited design layouts.
Prepares project specifications, compiling and analyzing relevant data.
Writes reports and specifications (excluding Front-End sections), reviews completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations.
Non-licensed architectural staff.Highly proficient in REVIT, AutoCad Architecture version 2022, have the ability to annotate plans and details.Working knowledge of Word & Excel, and 3D Rendering Software.Proficient in the firms 3D Rendering Software, able to generate renderings and apply materials and finishes.Actively seeking licensure, have NCARB membership, and be working toward completing certification.Actively seeking LEED accreditation and obtain membership/ participation in industry-focused events.Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
