We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Architectural Drafter to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects. This individual will report directly to the Senior Project Manager and work collaboratively with all employees within the organization. Position Overview: As an Architectural Drafter, you will be responsible for developing detailed technical drawings and construction documents while also supporting project management activities. You will act as the CAD lead on various projects, particularly in the residential design / remodel space, ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance across all outputs while also mentoring junior staff. Additionally, you'll engage directly with clients, help foster strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction and identify possible future service opportunities. Position Duties and Responsibilities Include: Production & Client Delivery Collaborate closely with architects, engineers and project managers to produce precise drawings, plans, and construction exhibits. Support all architectural project phases from conceptual design through construction, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeliness. Prepare and revise construction documents, incorporating feedback and corrections from senior staff while ensuring alignment with project goals. Lead the CAD design process on assigned projects, taking responsibility for the accuracy and quality of drawings, and ensuring timely delivery. Coordinate submittals for client reviews, government agency approvals, and other regulatory requirements. Work with sketches, layouts, and verbal instructions to prepare comprehensive drawings. Client Engagement Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with clients, acting as a key point of contact for their drafting needs. Identify opportunities for additional services, driving client satisfaction and helping to secure repeat business. Quality Control & Compliance Perform rigorous quality control checks of CAD models, ensuring adherence to industry standards and compliance with project requirements. Ensure proper documentation and adherence to engineering processes. Team Collaboration & Leadership Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture, contributing to the continuous improvement of our design processes. Mentor junior drafters and other team members, offering guidance, feedback, and training on best practices. Collaborate in developing and implementing company-wide CAD standards. Requirements: Associates degree in architecture or related field and 4+ years of drafting experience in an architectural or engineering environment OR Bachelors degree in architecture or related field and 3+ years of drafting experience in an architectural or engineering environment. Qualifications/Skills Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting software. Strong knowledge of drafting principles and techniques. Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into accurate drawings. Proficiency with BlueBeam and the Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams. Client management and relationship-building experience with the ability to maintain long-term relationships. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities. A keen eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Familiarity with architectural and/or engineering industry-specific technical knowledge. Salary and Benefits: Salary range based on experience and qualifications: Architectural Drafter: $60,000-$85,000 annual salary. Bonuses based on individual and firm performance. Benefits include health care plan, dental plan, vision plan and 401k plan. Flexible work environment with every other Friday off.
