Major Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities: Assess patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, updating patient records, and studying medical histories.Evaluate and treat patients in consultation with or as the primary attending physician.Coordinate the hospital's diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultative resources.Administer and prescribe treatments and medications.Follow through on cases to ensure effectiveness and alter the course of treatment as indicated.Examine patients to determine the nature and extent of illness.Order or execute diagnostic tests and imaging studies to provide information about patient's condition.Analyze patient history, current medications, physical examination findings, and test results to appropriately diagnose and treat patient's condition.Refer patients for specialized medical care beyond the scope of Greater Regional Health.Advise patients concerning diet, hygiene, and methods for prevention of disease.Develop, implement, and evaluate ongoing patient care services and programs that assure quality patient care programs consistent with the GRH mission.Collaborate with other providers and departments to create systems of patient care service and problem resolution that improves the quality and efficiency of care provided.Demonstrate respect for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.Assist in developing operating policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements.Provide clinical supervision of assigned nurse staff.Participate in and/or conduct in-service presentations.Skills, Education and Experience: Master's degree in Nursing and hold current certification ARNP.Licensed to practice as RN in the state of Iowa.Must be registered under both state and federal Controlled Substances Acts.For the 7th year in a row, Greater Regional has been named one of the Top 50 Workplaces in Iowa, which we credit to our employees' shared cultural values.
