The Art Director is a creative expert, able to produce in a wide range of styles and formats. They are adept at developing work products with little instruction or within confines. This aesthetical pro leads projects independently or with teams while targeting visual direction from the creative director. They are the creative lead of their own client accounts and must have client consultation and agency experience, as they align great solutions that meet or exceed client objectives. This role sits on our Creative Team and reports to the Head of Creative or Design Director.
ResponsibilitiesLead creative development and project teams for assigned projects with little to no supportEnsure work products meet our high quality standards.Present designs and creative solutions to clients and partners clearly and concisely.Address client feedback, and recalibrate creative expectations when needed, or recommend new solutions.Identify and act on opportunities for internal process and practice improvement.Client relationship development and revenue generationBuild ongoing rapport with clients through project work.Contribute to proposals and pitches for new projects, in collaboration with the business development team.Calculate design workload and process needs for proposals and current projects.Support in the development of efficient processes, templates, and department improvements.As thinkPARALLAX grows, this role may include managing a designer.QualificationsMust have experience concepting and designing for multi-page layouts (typically in the form of reports).Experience in designing for websites, branding, and other communication/engagement activations for consumers, customers, investors, and employees.Experience leading design discussions with and presenting work to clients.Proactive approach and ability to work with project managers to define appropriate scope and timelines for design work.Ability to think both strategically and creatively, developing unique solutions and driving them from idea to execution.Collaborative and team-oriented to brainstorm ideas and assess proper next steps to move work through an effective process. Yet, has the ability to build work product individually, as well.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to function well in a remote-first, fast-paced agency environment.Eligibility for employment in the U.S.Bonus:Brings additional design skills, like branding, illustration, photography, videography, typeface design, or others.Experience transforming sustainability/ESG content and infographics into engaging visuals for a variety of audiences.This is a full-time, exempt position, working remotely or occasionally from the thinkPARALLAX office in Encinitas, CA. thinkPARALLAX is California-based, so the ideal candidate will be working within three hours of Pacific Standard Time.
