Position: Asphalt Distributor Truck Driver/Operator Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6 am-7 pm, limited Saturdays, and never a Sunday Position Overview: The Asphalt Distributor Operator/Driver is responsible for operating the asphalt distributor, completing the necessary paperwork, and performing various other duties as required. This full-time, seasonal position involves travel and overtime during peak season. The role reports directly to the Paving Foreman and does not involve supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Punctual attendance for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects. Safely operate and maintain the asphalt distributor, ensuring cleanliness and proper functionality. Understand and apply correct shot rates for different grades of emulsions. Perform necessary maintenance and operation of additional equipment as required. Conduct pre- and post-shift inspections, assisting with maintenance or repairs as needed. Accurately process required daily paperwork, including time reporting, truck reports, and scale tickets. Display flexibility in duties, including working in adverse weather conditions or outside regular hours as needed. Position Requirements: Authorization for a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test. Minimum of 3 years of experience in asphalt distributor operations or asphalt paving. Possession of a Class A CDL with tanker and HAZMAT endorsements. Basic mechanical skills and background. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Ability to understand and follow instructions from supervisory positions, both written and verbal. Travel is required.
