Reporting to our clients Chief Financial Officer, the Asset Manager is responsible for overseeing their mission critical assets.
This includes the leasing and maintenance of our facilities, the procurement and maintenance of our field equipment and vehicle fleet, optimizing utilization and the repair/replace cycle.
This individual will play a critical role in our clients capital and operating expense planning ensuring that the right tools and equipment are available and in good/safe working order at the right place and at the right time in the most cost-efficient manner.
Key responsibilities:
Asset procurement/disposal: Buying or securing assets for the company, developing an optimal replacement cycle, and selling/disposing assets that are beyond economic repair (BER) for maximum value.
Asset tracking: Monitoring the location and status of assets in real time, ensuring safety, maximizing uptime and utilization, and preventing loss.
Manage facilities and liaise with landlords on improvements and maintenance, lead planning with respective to capacity and footprint optimization, as well as financial modeling and negotiations for new leases and lease renewals.
Asset maintenance: Ensuring that assets are regularly maintained for maximum uptime and utilization, managing repair/replace decisions.
Fleet management: Manage relationship with third party fleet administrators.
Asset disposal: Deciding when to replace, upgrade, or dispose assets.
Asset forecasting: Predicting needs and budgeting capex and maintenance and repair operating expenses.
Asset reporting: Creating and distributing reports to partners in the organization.
This person will assist with:
Safeguarding assets and ensuring safety.
Maximizing profitability optimizing the repair/replace cycle.
Managing equipment inventories for optimal utilization and availability and rental options for peak periods.
Liaising with third party fleet administrators and managing repair/replace cycle and capacity planning.
Liaising with suppliers to obtain the best price for assets.
Capital and operating expense planning.
Working with asset management systems and tracking technologies.
Working with finance and accounting to ensure financial records are up-to-date and accurate.
Analyzing related financial variances, developing and reporting efficiency centered KPIs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree in a relevant field, such as finance, accounting or business required.
3+ years of successful asset management experience.
Skilled negotiator and results driven.
Experience in multi-site, construction, equipment and rental fleets will be beneficial.
Strong financial background with the ability to understand ROA/IRR and report on related KPIs.
Excellent IT skills working with business and data intelligence software.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills, written and verbal, including in virtual meetings.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
