Assistant Audio Editor Location: Irvine, CA Schedule: 5 Days Onsite Pay: Up to $49.30/hour DOE Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision and more Planet Interactive is looking for a Assistant Sound Editor to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 6-month contract with the potential to go longer. This role will work 40 hours per week, occasionally working off schedule hours as required on certain projects to meet tight deadlines. You will be required to be onsite 5 days per week in their Irvine, CA office. The Assistant Sound Editor will join an in-house creative team and will assist our Audio Lead during sound editorial and mix on all projects. The ideal Assistant Sound Editor will have a strong background in traditional post-production sound workflows and a curiosity in adapting these workflows for Immersive media. Assistant Sound Editor Responsibilities: You will be responsible for organizing production rolls, prepping AAFs, creating dialogue assemblies, and conforming mix and edit sessions. You will work with external partners to organize and integrate Foley, SFX, and ADR deliveries, and assist with cueing of Foley and ADR. Your work will vary significantly from project to project, occasionally requiring hands-on sound editing. Assistant Sound Editor Qualifications: 5+ years experience in post-production sound with deep expertise in picture and sound editorial workflows Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Proficiency with Pro Tools and other commonly used tools such as EdiLoad, Matchbox, and Soundminer. Experience in creating complex dialogue assemblies, often involving multiple recorders, and conforming edit and mix sessions. Deep knowledge of common interchange formats such as Final Cut XML, EDL, and AAF. Comfortable with hands-on sound editing, primarily for Foley and VO. Exceptional attention to detail and highly self-motivated. Experience with surround and immersive formats (e.g. Atmos or Ambisonics) a plus. Experience in scripting to automate workflows using python or similar scripting languages preferred but not required. Basic experience in using the command line to invoke apps and scripts.
