Essential functions (responsibilities, tasks, supervisory needs):
Prepares or secures and reviews cost estimates.
Compiles required cost and equipment information and writes appropriate requests.
Responsible for all aspects of project work including design, CIR write-ups, developing contractor bid packages, overseeing project installation, cost tracking.
Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Provide training and start-up assistance for new equipment as well as post-project support.
Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
Manages preventive and predictive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers and Research and Development Department.
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Responsible for researching and organizing energy reduction projects while working with energy firms for eligible rebates.
Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
May maintain records and other relevant documents pertaining to equipment and supplies.
Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
Required Qualifications (education, years of experience, KSAs):
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree (B.A.) (mechanical engineering preferred) and five years of related experience.
2 years of maintenance project management experience, preferably in the food industry.
Previous leadership experience required.
Must have a proven successful record working within time restrictions.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to supervisor and other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Preferred education and experience:
Experience with Process Safety Management.
Hydraulic system, steam boiler, NH3 refrigeration and Freon refrigeration experience preferred.
EPA 608 or 609 card preferred.
Experience in construction field a plus.
Work environment (includes travel/on-call):
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
