Assistant Controller

Supervise accounting or finance staff.
Hire, train, develop, manage performance of assigned staff and assist with portfolio review.Assist the Controller with financial reporting.
Coordinate the compilation, review, completion, and distribution of the Annual Financial Report (AFR).
Prepare for and participate in financial audits.Assist the Controller with the management of monthly and fiscal year end accounting close-out processes.Assist with documenting, maintaining, and implementing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls.
Work with departments to ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and internal controls.
May provide training to campus or develop training tools related to policies and procedures.Interpret and apply general accounting and reporting standards established by the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).May assist with the development of financial scenarios and preparation of forecasts.
May serve on relevant committees or liaise with UT System on financial matters.Additional related duties as assigned.
