Position Overview:
As an Assistant Controller, you'll be a key player in our finance team, directly supporting our Controller to optimize financial processes and reduce workload pressures. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you'll work alongside a team of 70 dedicated professionals in a dynamic, impactful role. The ideal candidate will bring an in-depth understanding of QuickBooks, financial controlling, and monthly reporting from day one, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company standards.Support the Controller in annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and financial planning efforts to optimize budget management and planning.Oversee general ledger activities, maintaining accuracy in journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, streamlining payment processes, and resolving discrepancies to optimize cash flow and collaboration with other departments.Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting efficiency and reduce redundancy.Participate in training sessions to onboard and develop new finance team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred, not required)At least 3 years of experience in a comparable accounting or finance role, preferably within a service-focused industry.Proficiency in QuickBooks and advanced skills in Excel with a strong grasp of general ledger functions.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to perform complex financial analysis effectively.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build positive working relationships across teams.Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently while meeting deadlines.
