About the Company and Opportunity: Our client is a small and stable international construction company and has been in the industry for over 40 years! Due to growth, they are hiring an Assistant Controller to work in their office in Pasadena, MD.
This person will work with a small tight knit team.
Senior accountants encouraged to apply! Company boasts a great work life balance and offers free parking in a private lot to its employees! Overview of the Role: This position will begin immediately after an interview for the selected candidate Position is 100% in office in Pasadena, MD to start.
After training, there will be an opportunity for two days work from home. Hours are typically 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday Job Duties: Oversee the timely processing of accounts payable and receivable activities, expense reports, and payroll processing Coordinate with outside professional advisors to ensure payroll, sales/use tax, property and income taxes are reported and paid Oversee all HR activities to ensure all employment documentation are complete and in compliance with state and federal laws Oversee administration of corporate 401k plan including reports and submissions in accordance with legal and plan requirements Coordinate with insurance providers to ensure compliance Maintain and improve systems that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value Work with IT to maintain security of company electronic and physical assets Respond to owner and VPO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate financial needs Ideal Candidate for this Position: The Assistant Controller must have exceptional organizational and time management skills Must be very detail oriented and also able to multitask Possesses strong critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills Has the ability to work independently and in a team setting Strong supervisory skills Qualifications for the Assistant Controller: 3-5 years' accounting experience required Intermediate Excel skills required Construction industry experience preferred Recent experience with Sage 100 highly preferred. Experience with other construction software a plus Degree not required, but is a plus Supervisory experience a plus
