Position Summary: The Assistant Director of Athletics Ticket Sales generates ticket sales for Tulane Athletics events. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director of Ticket Sales & Customer Service.
Essential Functions: Function: Ticket Sales - Sell Football, Men's and Women's Basketball, Baseball and Volleyball Season Tickets, Partial Plans, Group Tickets, and other ticket products; generate sales through phone contact, email, appointments, and new sales leads; build relationships to provide repeat business and excellent customer service; work home games, performing various ticket sales and service duties throughout the game and achieve and exceed weekly, monthly, and annual sales goals established by the Assistant Athletic Director, Ticket Sales and Service. (55%)Function: Ticket Sales Retention - Maintain a constant working relationship with staff of the Green Wave Club; serve as the retention specialist by building strong relationships with current season ticket and group ticket accounts in all ticketed sports via phone, in-person appointments and networking events to secure future renewals and group sales and achieve annual goals within retaining season ticket holder accounts and groups. Provide excellent customer service and maintain customer relationship skills. (20%)Function: Development - Work closely with the Green Wave Club to assist with donor relations and fund development and manage a small portfolio of annual fund donors and assist with renewals. (20%)Function: Other Duties - Performs other duties as requested or required, whether or not specifically mentioned in this job description. (5%)Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Sports Management or closely related field1 year of sales experience (includes experience with a computerized ticket system)Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Competencies: Ability to demonstrate uncompromised judgment and discretion with regard to interpersonal relationships.Outstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skillsGreat decision-making skills, solid judgment and interpersonal effectiveness.An interest and ability in serving others as one of the primary functions of their job.Ability to interact effectively with customers, coaches, administrators, student athletes and coworkers.Strong organizational, management and leadership skills.Ability to maintain confidentiality and use utmost discretion when privy to sensitive information.Proven ability to multi-task effectively.Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines.Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and social media.Availability to work flexible work schedule including nights and weekends.Thorough knowledge of NCAA and American Athletic Conference rules and regulations.Preferred Qualifications: Operational knowledge of Paciolan ticketing systemsOperational knowledge of SalesForce CRM systemsExperience in Division I Intercollegiate AthleticsCompletion of ticket sales training coursesNCAA Related: Ensures that all Department of Athletics and University related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all the Athletic Department's efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
